Heavyweight robots, originally called Gigabots, is the name given to BattleBots competitors which weigh up to 250lbs, though this rule changed over time.
Debuting in the very first BattleBots events, heavyweight robots originally weighed between 110lbs and 200lbs, whereas walkerbots could weigh between 165lbs and 300lbs in what was then known as the Gigabot Class. For the Las Vegas event later that year, the weight boundaries were increased to 116-210lbs, and walkerbots could now weigh between 175lbs and 315lbs.
Throughout Comedy CentralBattleBots, heavyweight robots weighed up to a maximum of 220lbs. Since the ABC reboot began airing in 2015, BattleBots competitions have been comprised exclusively of heavyweight competitors.
