The gyro dance is a term in robotic combat. It describes the moment where one side of the robot lifts up off the floor due to the gyroscopic forces of the weapon the robot is using. This is different than pulling a Mauler as that is the result of an imbalance upon impact with another object. It is generally associated with robots whose weapon is at very high speed and only while turning. Depending on the sharpness of the turn, the gyro dance can cause the robot to end up on its side or flip over, though it can also prove useful if the robot has lost drive on one side during the bout.
