Ginsu was one of six BattleBots competitors produced as part of the Pocketbots line of toys produced by Tiger Electronics in 2001.
The toy is based on the Season 1.0 version of Ginsu. Unlike the real robot, the Ginsu Pocketbot toy is not invertible because of its on/off switch at the top. When the cord at the rear is pulled and released, the toy would move and the saws would begin spinning.
As was the case with every Pocketbot in the range, it featured a metal clip to allow for the toy to be attached to personal belongings. Two or more Pocketbots could be clipped together and "fight" once their cords had been pulled, as advertised on the back of each pack.
