Ginsu was one of eight BattleBots toys produced for the April 2002 McDonald's Happy Meal promotion.
Based on Ginsu's Season 2.0 build, which sported a large, X-shaped chassis with eight individual sawblade wheels, it is a strong representation of Greg Munson and Trey Roski's iconic robot, which was often limited to exhibition matches throughout its career.
The McDonald's toy reflects Ginsu's larger red saws at the top, but lacks the stabilising poles which prevented the real robot from becoming stuck on its side.
The toy also does not feature double-stacked sawblades at the front, as was the case with its real-life counterpart.
Ginsu was given the identification number 4 on its plastic packaging.
Trivia[]
- The McDonald's Happy Meal range was one of only two toy lines to feature this iteration of Ginsu - the other being the Ginsu MiniBot produced by Interactive Toy Concepts a year prior.
