Not to be confused with the similarly-named BattleBots IQ competitor, Gatorbot.
Gatorblade was a middleweight robot built by the Louisiana Swamp Monsters which competed in the first BattleBots IQ event in 2002.
It was a six-wheel drive, box-shaped robot armed with a row of three circular saws at one end, and a narrow plow at the other. Gatorblade was capable of running both ways up, but despite its dual weaponry, it was unable to chalk up a win across three battles.
The name was likely a portmanteau of the sports drink Gatorade and the word 'blade', referencing the robot's spinning weaponry.
