Splatter was a heavyweight robot built by Team Fast Electric Robots for the first two seasons of BattleBots on ABC.

It was a four-wheel drive robot with a box-shaped chassis. Splatter's main weapon was a vertical spinning disc mounted to the end of a lifting arm which could rotate 180 degrees. The arm had forks so it could be used as a lifter, and the disc could also be used as a makeshift hammer saw to attack from the rear.

For World Championship I, it was not chosen to compete, instead being an reserve. Due to this, the only fight Splatter had was an untelevised rumble was was only shown as part of a TESTED video.

Splatter was accepted into the main competition for World Championship II, drawing Team Whyachi's Warrior Clan. After being dominated for much of the fight, Splatter lost the judges' decision and was not selected to be reinstated. Splatter competed in another three-way rumble, but lost out to ROTATOR.

Outside BattleBots[]

Splatter made an appearance at Long Beach Comic Con in September 2016, alongside a number of other BattleBots competitors.[1]

World Championship I[]

Splatter vs. Bull Dog vs. Stinger (Exhibition)

Despite not competing in the main competition, Splatter participated in a three bot rumble with Bull Dog and Stinger.

Little is known about this fight as it went untelevised, with the only footage coming from a now-private TESTED video.[2] It worked with Stinger to light Bull Dog on fire and push it into the killsaws. It was still moving at the end, but lost overall to Stinger.

Splatter was due to compete in a nine robot rumble at the end of the tournament, but due to time restraints in filming, the rumble never happened.

World Championship II[]

Splatter vs. Warrior Clan

Splatter's first match in the main competition was against Warrior Clan. For this battle, the team attached a fishing rod to Splatter in hopes of taking down the Warrior Dragon drone.

The Vasquez family's robot led with its back end as it approached Warrior Clan before swinging itself around to face the main robot. Warrior managed to land several minor attacks with its spinning ring as Splatter struggled to get its weaponry into play and lost its rod extension.

Warrior then got underneath Splatter from the front and popped it into the air, before deflecting it away again as Splatter looked to fight back. As the Warrior Dragon drone hovered, the main robot cut into Splatter's flank as it tried to get its lifter into play.

With its arm fully swung over, Splatter tried to pin Warrior momentarily, but without its spinner working, could not cause damage to the Team Whyachi robot. Warrior instead slid underneath and drove Splatter back towards the paddle hazard. Both robots found themselves in an embrace as referee Michael Ayers counted the pin, until they separated.

At this point in the fight, Splatter's arm was unable to retract, which affected its weight distribution. Warrior was positioned under the back end of Splatter, lifting its wheels off the ground. As such, both robots were stuck and the referee had to pause the match.

The fight resumed with 49 seconds remaining and Warrior got its ring back up to speed, attacking Splatter again, whose arm was now in its retracted state. Warrior shepherded Splatter to the corner, where both robots struggled for mobility as the fight came to an end.

Warrior Clan won on a unanimous 3-0 judges' decision. Splatter was not chosen to be a wildcard, meaning it was eliminated from the tournament.

Splatter vs. ROTATOR vs. The Disk O' Inferno (Exhibition)

Splatter also participated in a rumble with The Disk O' Inferno and ROTATOR.

Splatter overturns ROTATOR.

Although its disc was not working from the start, Splatter began well as it was able to withstand attacks from ROTATOR and flip The Disk O' Inferno, putting it out of action. It then tried the same to ROTATOR, lifting it twice before chasing it to the other side of the arena and flipping it fully twice. However, after helping The Disk O' Inferno back onto its wheels, Splatter took several big hits from ROTATOR's sole working disc and had its side ripped open, leaving it only able to drive in circles. Splatter was unable to do any further attacks and ROTATOR was declared the winner of the rumble by a unanimous judges' decision.

This proved to be Splatter's final BattleBots fight as it was replaced by Whiplash for future seasons.
