Rolling Blackout was a lightweight robot which competed in Season 3.0, Season 4.0, and Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots. It was armed with a lifting arm (a lifting plate in Season 4.0). It performed decently in competition, reaching the round of 64 in Season 4.0. Rolling Blackout was completely built by scratch, with two custom four HP brushless DC motors powering the drive system and one custom 2 HP brushless motor operating the lifting arm. With a closed loop servo system borrowed from a missile development program and 2 hand built 48 Volt NiCad battery packs, it had the potential to be the fastest competitior at this point. Due to unforeseen issues with the current limit scheme employed, Rolling Blackout was forced to compete at approximately half speed and with a dodgy lifting arm mechanism.

Season 3.0[]
Rolling Blackout was supposed to fight Pursuer, However, Rolling Blackout had technical issues and was forced to forfeit.
Season 4.0[]
Rolling Blackout's first opponent this season was Cleprechaun. Cleprechaun's first blade hit on Rolling Blackout bent the blade so that it was hitting Cleprechaun's chassis, slowing itself down. Meanwhile, the damage to Rolling Blackout was minimal. Rolling Blackout pushed and shoved Cleprechaun around and into walls for the remainder of the match. Eventually Cleprechaun ran away for the majority of the match to avoid further shoving. Rolling Blackout eventually won the match on a 27-18 judges' decision.
Rolling Blackout's next opponent was 100% Y.A.W.N. Rolling Blackout took advantage of 100% Y.A.W.N.'s mobility issues by slamming it into the wall and was able to score an easy KO.
Rolling Blackout then had Junkyard Dog to fight next. Rolling Blackout was only going approximately half speed and caught itself on the killsaws, flipping it onto its back. Rolling Blackout was counted out and Junkyard Dog won by KO. This eliminated Rolling Blackout from the tournament.
Season 5.0[]
Rolling Blackout’s only fight this season was against Little Piece of Hate, where it lost by KO, eliminating it from the competition.
