El Aparato was a middleweight robot designed by Miami-based Pace Robotics, which was scheduled to compete at BattleBots IQ 2011 in the High School division.
It was a four-wheeled, box-shaped robot with a front wedge and an overhead horizontal bar spinner similar to that of three-time Giant Nut winner Hazard. A skull decal adorned the front wedge and top panel of El Aparato. The robot's name translates from Spanish as 'the apparatus'.
Though listed as a competitor, El Aparato was not allocated a pit number at the event and its was crossed out, implying it ultimately did not compete for unknown reasons.
