Eban Schletter (born March 16, 1975) is an American composer and songwriter who produced music and sound effects used throughout Comedy Central BattleBots.

His work also includes two CDs: one for Jason Bardis and Dr. Inferno Jr., as well as one for Fon Davis and Mouser Mecha-Catbot.

Schletter's association with BattleBots ended after the show was axed by Comedy Central, and David Vanacore produced the music for the reboot seasons on ABC and Discovery.

Mouser Mecha-Catbot CD[]

"Although I worked on Comedy Central’s BattleBots from from the first season, I wasn't able to see the live event itself until Season 3. I must say, seeing those robots beat the scrap out of each other live was really great. I was there with my friend Martin Olson and his son Casey, a big BattleBots fan. Sitting behind us in the crowd was a young girl with a home made Mouser Mecha-Catbot sign scrawled with crayon, which she held up cheering when Mouser entered the BattleBox. During the ensuing battle someone commented on one of Mouser’s aggressive moves: “ooh, he got a good hit in there!” The young girl corrected, “she!” referring not to driver Fon Davis but to the pink robotic cat herself.

Later, I had the chance to introduce myself to Mouser’s creators, Fon Davis and April Mousley. We got to talking and they mentioned that they had just been thinking it would be nice to have some music for their web site. I intended to give them some material much like the fight music I provide for the show. As it turns out, Martin’s daughter Olivia Olson, who was nine years old at the time, just happens to be an incredibly talented singer and provided just the kind of vocal style Mouser needed. Fon took the ball and ran with it, directing an animated video that ended up airing on the Comedy Central show (also available at the Mouser Store).

On the drive back from San Francisco to Los Angeles I got to thinking about that little girl and how excited she was about Mouser - not just as a robot but as a character. If that was Mouser’s audience, I realized, they deserve something more interesting than generic fight music: Mouser needs to have her own theme song!

Dr. Inferno Jr. CD[]

"Sometime during Season 4, I ended up having some email conversations with Dr. Inferno Jr. builder Jason Dante Bardis. Next thing you know Dr. Inferno Jr. had a theme song too! This bot, however, was not ripe for the kind of bright power-pop ditty Mouser inspired, but instead demanded some demonic voices from one of Dante’s levels of Hell.

Not having access to a choir, I created one with myself, Mark Rivers and Tracy DeNisi. On the supposedly “secret” bonus track you will hear the voices of both Casey and Olivia Olson.
