The initial design was similar to Tazbot minus the head and arm with cambered wheels and a weapon in front. For the contest there were three weapon designs available - clamping jaws, a set of dual carbide-tipped saws, or an articulated grinding drill. The winner of the contest, Lance Lyle, chose the design with the jaws. Despite appearing on the television show in a short segment, Easty Beast lost in the qualifiers to Spike Demon and never fought in a televised match. Easty Beast returned for the 2004 NPC Charity Open under control of Donald Hutson, where it won two fights as well as losing two.
In 2007, Easty Beast was rebuilt by Hutson and renamed Carbide[1] (not to be confused with the future Robot Wars competitor), and was one of eight middleweight robots to compete in that year's private JavaOne event. Alongside the sawblades, it was equipped with a hinged plough at the rear which was to be used to combat high-powered spinners. However, Carbide could not maintain its previous incarnation's improved form, losing in the first round to Icewave.
Easty Beast's first ever match was against Mohammed Ali. Easty Beast, rammed into it early into the fight, both breaking the frame, and leaving a somewhat large dent on the left side of the bot, rendering it immobile. Easty Beast won by KO and advanced to the final preliminary round.
Easty Beast vs. Spike Demon
Easty Beast's next battle came against Spike Demon. However, Spike Demon won by KO and Easty Beast was eliminated before the televised rounds.

Blue Flame tried to turn around to land a shot on Easty Beast, but instead it got pushed into the wall, disk first, pinned, and lifted. when it got free, its disk stopped working, leaving it vulnerable to getting pushed around and lifted. Blue Flame tried to make up for the loss of its weapon by converting itself into a makeshift thwackbot, hitting Easty Beast with its disk by constantly spinning itself around. While it worked to some degree, it didn't stop Easty Beast from trying to push and lift the disk spinner. Eventually, the match made the distance. Easty Beast won on a judges' decision and continued on.

Carbide vs. Icewave
