Dark Steel was a lightweight robot built by Team Dark Forces, formerly known as Team Knowledge, which competed in Seasons 3.0 and 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was a black robot originally armed with a drill and scoop, boasting an alleged top speed of 25mph and taking 35 hours to build.[1] Dark Steel was completely rebuilt for Season 5.0 into a wedge-shaped robot armed with an angled spinning blade. It performed decently in competition, winning three fights in Season 5.0 despite losing in its debut performance.

Team Dark Forces entered middleweight Dark Shredder into Season 5.0. Russ Barrow would join Team Food Fight ahead of BattleBots World Championship VII with Big Dill.

Dark Steel vs. Junkyard Dog

Dark Steel's first fight in Season 3.0 was against Junkyard Dog. In the beginning of the match, both robots went straight at each other and missed. Both robots turned around and both robots set up to go straight at each other again, but Dark Steel was moving slower and the left motor was burning out. After a collision between both robots, Dark Steel was moving around in circles and Junkyard Dog got underneath Dark Steel. Junkyard Dog was unable to move due to its inability to get traction on its rear drive wheel and Dark Steel's left motor started smoking. Team Dark Forces were tapping out and Junkyard Dog won by KO at 1:15. This meant that Dark Steel was eliminated from the tournament.
