Chester, informally known as Chester the Nitwitted Half Brother, was a superheavyweight robot built by Team STUPID which was designed for the Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was a four-wheel drive, invertible robot utilizing aluminum and titanium of varying thicknesses throughout its construction. Very little was known about the robot's offensive potential, with the team's website stating its primary weapon was "top secret".[1] The weapon was a actually a 24 inch diameter, 75 pound, 4-toothed spinning disk powered by an ETEK motor at 48v. The team claim the weapon could reach up to 240mph, with the robot itself being able to push up to 1395lbs thanks to its Magmotors driving 10" foam tires via two-stage chain reduction.
A week prior to Season 5.0 filming, the robot was damaged irreparably in a fire caused by improper wiring. As such, the team were unable to compete with Chester. No images exist of the robot so its design remains unknown, as does whether it had an intended opponent in the primary rounds.
They did, however, compete with their middleweight, Strange Brew, which previously also fought in Season 4.0.
Team captain Dan Wiseman's son later applied for World Championship VIII in 2023 with brand new robots called King Crunch and Sucker Punch.
