Chameleon was a middleweight robot designed by Renegade Robots which competed in three seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was a four-wheel drive robot armed with a square eggbeater-style drum spinner for Season 3.0 and a more traditionally-shaped cylindrical drum for its next two competitions. Chameleon failed to win in its first two seasons, but won twice during Season 5.0.

Robot History[]

Season 3.0[]

Chameleon vs. Exodus 2001

Chameleon's first ever fight was with Exodus 2001. However, Exodus 2001 won on a 28-17 judges' decision and Chameleon was eliminated.

Season 4.0[]

Chameleon vs. Misty the WonderBot

Chameleon fought against Misty the WonderBot, but lost a wheel early on, meaning its drum banged on the floor whenever it tried to move. The bots circled each other and hit a few more times with their nasty spinning weapons. Misty the WonderBot ripped off more chunks, and Chameleon popped Misty up with the drum and got under Misty for a push. Eventually though, Chameleon's drum stopped and let the smoke out. Misty the WonderBot won a 27-18 decision, eliminating Chameleon.

Season 5.0[]

Chameleon vs. Shovit

Chameleon's first fight of Season 5.0 was against Shovit. Chameleon was able to defeat Shovit on a decisive 38-7 decision.

Chameleon vs. Worm Burner

It next fight was against Worm Burner. Again, Chameleon was able to win a judges' decision 33-12 and advance.

Chameleon vs. Lobotomy

Chameleon then went against Lobotomy where this time it was on the losing end of a 17-28 decision.

Trivia[]

  • Chameleon's battle against Misty the WonderBot saw two teams responsible for popular video games fighting. While Greg Hjelstrom and Byon Garrabant were responsible for Command & Conquer: Renegade, Will Wright of Misty the WonderBot developed The Sims series of video games.
  • Chameleon is present within Command & Conquer: Renegade as an easter egg. It can be purchased by Brotherhood of Nod players as a man-sized, single-unit vehicle for 800 Credits, but only on special maps and servers that have "extra units" enabled. While its design mostly mirrors Chameleon's Season 4.0 appearance, it comes equipped with the Season 3.0 "egg-beaters" as its sole weapon.[1]
