CU-Denver Demagogue was a middleweight robot built by a group of students from Colorado University with assistance from Team Robot Dojo that competed in Season 4.0 of Comedy Central's BattleBots.

It was a four-wheeled robot armed with two horizontal saw blades that could run at 5000rpm and a rear wedge. CU-Denver Demagogue fought exclusively in Season 4.0 and did respectably, winning three matches before losing to Summoner in the Round of 64.

Micheal Gallaway and Jeffrey Smith both graduated from CU-Denver. Sadly, Michael Gallaway would pass away in 2006.

CU-Denver Demagogue would remain in Michael Gallaway's possession until his death. It is unknown what happened to the robot after that.

Robot History

Season 4.0
CU-Denver Demagogue vs. Snuggabot CU-Denver Demagogue's first ever match in BattleBots was against Snuggabot in the first preliminary round. CU-Denver Demagogue was too low to be hit by Snuggabot's spinning weapon and pushed it around the BattleBox, slamming it into the arena wall twice and breaking the spinning blade. It also chipped away at it a bit with its rear saws to score some points. The time ran out and CU-Denver Demagogue won on a 37-8 judges' decision. This win put CU-Denver Demagogue to the next preliminary round, where it faced Metallic Mayhem.
CU-Denver Demagogue vs. Metallic Mayhem The first ram busted Metallic Mayhem's wedge and its saws never spun much. CU-Denver Demagogue got around to Metallic Mayhem's sides and pushed it against the spikestrip a few times. CU-Denver Demagogue got itself stuck on the spikestrip, though, in one of its attempts to ram Metallic Mayhem into them, but was saved by the bell. CU-Denver Demagogue won on a 32-13 judges' decision and advanced to the final preliminary round, where it faced Pokey.
CU-Denver Demagogue vs. Pokey Pokey got under CU-Denver Demagogue and lifted it up, but couldn't do much with it then. CU-Denver Demagogue was able to push Pokey pretty well, but it kept getting lifted. Eventually, CU-Denver Demagogue managed to push Pokey up against the wall and pin it. More pushing followed and CU-Denver Demagogue pinned Pokey again as time ran out. CU-Denver Demagogue won on a close 24-21 judges' decision and advanced to the TV rounds, where it faced Summoner.
CU-Denver Demagogue vs. Summoner Summoner won the fight on a 33-12 judges' decision and CU-Denver Demagogue was eliminated from the tournament.
