In 2001, Tiger Electronics, then a parent company to Hasbro, released a line of BattleBots toys called Bump 'N' Bash Bots. These were were packaged in sets of two robots.
Each set included a black plastic square which, when assembled, could function as an arena for these toys to battle on. Although not based on the show's iconic BattleBox, these squares could be paired together to create a larger arena as more toys were collected. The Bump 'N' Bash Bots were motorized, featuring an on-off switch and rotating module where its front two wheels were housed, randomizing the direction the toys would drive in once turned on.
The toys all had impact sensors on their bodies which, when hit, would explode the robot's armor in a similar vein to the Jakks Pacific Battle Bashers line, and immobilize it. These were also referred to as "danger zones" on the instruction sheet included with every twin-pack.
