In addition to the replica competitor robots, HEXBUG also produced several Build Your Own Bot toys under the BattleBots name in 2018, also described as Battle Strategy Kits on the packaging.
The first two of these consisted of a basic two-wheel drive chassis with multiple attachment points for additional armor, weaponry and defensive wedges and spikes. The third included more unique weaponry, in the form of a spinning cage similar to that of Son of Whyachi, as well as a chassis featuring tank treads for locomotion.
All three Build Your Own Bot releases are compatible with one another, allowing for the user to mix and match with different configurations, much like actual competitors on the televised show.
Each chassis requires three AAA batteries, which are included in each Build Your Own Bot purchase. A remote is also included.

Trivia[]
- The green Build Your Own Bot release erroneously labels the flipping scoop weapon as a "hammer".
- Recolored versions of the blue and green chassis - along with their optional weapon accessories - were also released by HEXBUG as part of their 2018 Robot Wars toy range. Two chassis - paired with the disc spinner and axe attachments - were available as single, twin and arena bundle packs under the names Impulse and Royal Pain respectively.
