BotsIQ 2008 (also known as BattleBots IQ 2008 and Botsworldwide) was the seventh BattleBots IQ related national event. 2008 marked the first year for rebranding of the BattleBots IQ program. The new program was called 'BotsIQ'.[3][4]
Branding, banners, and trophies at the event made no mention of 'BattleBots IQ', or 'BotsIQ'. The exact reason for this separation is unknown. The event, held from April 30 until May 4, 2008, saw 120lb robots compete in separate High School and College divisions, as well as 15lb classes.
The Large Class was won by Copperhead 3 in the High School division, with ODDBOTT 3.5 picking up second place and Knightrous taking home third place and the Coolest Robot Award. The Large Class College division was ultimately won by BearClaw with the rest of the placings unknown at this time.
Plum Robotics' Shockwave II and Aftershock won third and second place in the High School Mini Class, though it is unknown who won overall. Blender Mini took second in the College 15lb Division, but similarly, other podium spots are unknown. All three 120lb College podium spots are also undocumented.
Three Mini Class rumbles were fought in the larger BattleBox, though it is not known who won each fight.[5][6]
