Robert "Bob" Pitzer is a mechanical engineer who served as a judge during the Las Vegas 1999 BattleBots Pay-Per-View event.
Pitzer judged the event alongside Gary Cline and Joanne Pransky.
He would later join Chuck Pitzer and Team Raptor, who entered multiple robots under the "Raptor" name throughout Comedy Central BattleBots. However, he did not return to competition as the team brought Ghost Raptor to BattleBots World Championship I in 2015, and beyond.
Outside BattleBots[]
Bob Pitzer captained Team Raptor as they entered Rippa Raptor into Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors. He has also organized numerous BotBash events over the course of a decade. He also worked as a robotics specialist for Fortune 100.
Alongside Chuck Pitzer, he ran a company called Pitzer Consulting, which gave advice about mechanical design, using computer simulations to predict problems and find solutions ahead of time.
He currently works as a chief engineer for Harvest CROO Robotics, who work to provide automated technology to the agriculture industry. He also has a number of patents, including the Pitzer Wheel, which is used to reliably grab and harvest ripe strawberries.[1]
