William Sanford Nye (born November 27, 1955), more commonly known as Bill Nye, is an American mechanical engineer, media personality and actor.
He served as a technical reporter for the first three seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots, often appearing in between fight segments showcasing popular competitors, BattleBox hazards and rules.

He is best known as the host of the Disney and PBS children's science show Bill Nye the Science Guy from 1993 until 1998, and Netflix show Bill Nye Saves the World from 2017 until 2018.
Bill Nye has appeared on US gameshows and various television series including but not limited to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2008 as the "Expert" for the Ask the Expert lifeline, Dancing With The Stars and The Masked Dancer.
More recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bill Nye used his platform to promote the benefits of face masks, showing how they work and what they do to limit the spread of coronavirus.
