Beetleweights are the name given to BattleBots competitors which weighed up to 3lbs. They were introduced exclusively for the 2004 NPC Charity Open event as part of the "Sub-light" group of weight divisions. alongside 1lb antweights, 12lb hobbyweights and 30lb featherweights.
The only beetleweight event was won by Fierce Robots and one of their entries, One Fierce Upper-Cut. As the weight class was never hosted by BattleBots again, One Fierce Upper-Cut is the incumbent beetleweight BattleBots champion.
Outside BattleBots[]
Since 2004, the 3lb division has become a highly accessible weight division for rookie builders, often seen as an entry level weight class with numerous events accommodating beetleweights across the United States and worldwide.
