BattleAnts was the name given to BattleBots competitors which weighed up to 1lb, with two events held in 2001 and 2004.

Due to their size, fights between BattleAnts were held within a specially-designed, scaled-down BattleBox built by Pete Abrahamson, which featured spiked walls, killsaws and red and blue starting squares. The first BattleAnts event was held during filming for Season 5.0 on Comedy Central, and was won by Hoser'd, built by Derek Young. Though the BattleAnts bracket is not officially known, Hoser'd defeated Gnat in the semi-finals before getting the better of Oishi in the final. The competition was judged by Dave Calkins.[1]

BattleAnts returned for the NPC Charity Open 2004 event sanctioned by the BattleBots name, where Jim Smentowski and MicroNightmare, a scaled-down version of his then-220lb heavyweight Nightmare took the event win, having made its way through the loser's bracket and defeating ShazBot in the final.

Though the specifics on weight bonuses for non-wheeled BattleAnts are unknown, shuffling robots could weigh up to 2lbs as proven by the existence of Hoser'd.

The BattleAnts name did not return after 2004, and robots of this weight class are now simply known as Antweights.
