Athena was a heavyweight robot designed by Team War N Wisdom which applied for BattleBots World Championship VII.
It was a modular robot with a number of different weapon options depending on their opponent. The first of which was a thick, three-toothed disk called "Aegis", which bears an illustration of Medusa on the sides and refers to her shield from Greek mythology.[1] Their logo and shield design was created by co-captain and BattleBots super-fan, Kevin Bissonette of Robotik Pixels.[2] According to team captain Joseph Estes, the design of Athena was five years in the making, ahead of their application.[3]

The team posted the second of their three weapons in May 2022 - a thunderbolt-shaped bar spinner called Z-Bolt which mounted horizontally.[4] Though unrevealed, the third option was another take on a spinning bar.
Athena is named after the Olympian goddess of wisdom and war, hence the team's name. Very little else is known about the robot, though the team confirmed their application in early 2022. However, Athena was not selected to compete.
