The team entered Arachnobot into the final Comedy Central season of BattleBots but it failed to perform well in competition, losing its first and only preliminary match to Wee Willy Wedgy. The team also competed in the heavyweight division with Crabmeat.
In its first appearance, the name was also a homonym, incorporating the word "wreck" into its nomenclature. As a-wreck-no-bot, it picked up a single win in the inaugural BattleBots IQ event, losing twice but winning the Coolest Robot Award at the end of the tournament.
