Against All Odds was a middleweight robot built by the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Team which fought at BattleBots IQ 2004 as part of the High School division.

It was a two-wheel drive, invertible robot armed with a long, pentagonal-shaped chassis and bright red armor. For weaponry, Against All Odds sported a front-mounted horizontal bar spinner positioned low on the robot, similar to an undercutter. It lost both battles and was promptly eliminated from the main bracket, but participated in the College Division Rumble at the end of the tournament.

Against All Odds would be replaced with The Revenant the following year. Team member Victor Soto would later compete with Blue Flame and ROTATOR.

Robot History

BattleBots IQ 2004
Against All Odds vs. ? Both bots duel in the corner of the arena. Against All Odds' first match was against a currently unidentified double wedge robot. For the beginning of the match, Against All Odds was able to keep its bar pointed towards the wedge and was able to cause some damage. As the fight wore on however, Against All Odds lost its power and ended up unmoving in the corner of the arena.
Against All Odds vs. D-Monic IV Against All Odds is overturned by D-Monic IV. Against All Odds faced off against D-Monic IV in the losers' bracket. D-Monic IV was able to resist Against All Odd's first hits and then was able to land two very powerful shots, turning Against All Odds over. From here on out, D-Monic IV was able to wear down Against All Odds until it was once again immobile in the corner.
College Division Rumble Against All Odds fought in the end of competition collegiate rumble, lasting the entirety of the fight. However, it lost out to Class Act I.
