Adam Savage (born July 15, 1967) is an American television presenter, engineer and who is famous for his work on Mythbusters alongside Jamie Hyneman from 2003 until 2018. He has also been a part of BattleBots in both the Comedy Central and ABC eras, initially competing with Blendo before returning for World Championship II as a guest judge.

He was born in New York City and graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School in 1985, seeking an initial career in acting before abandoning this at the age of 19 to pursue a more hands-on profession. Following on from this, Savage worked in animation, graphic design, engineering, set designing, model making, carpentry, among other lines of work. In November 2011, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Twente for work to help popularize science and technology.

He is also the host of Adam Savage's Tested, a show and content platform aimed at builders and makers with a keen interest in science and technology. Several videos uploaded to their YouTube channel have been dedicated to BattleBots, including a deep dive into the 2015 season competitors and field[1] as well as videos made in collaboration with Fon Davis concerning Mouser Mecha-Catbot and Deadblow, the latter build by the late MythBusters star Grant Imahara.[2][3]

In December 2020, he held a podcast featuring Greg Munson ahead of the premiere of World Championship V on Discovery.[4]

Outside BattleBots[]

Away from the show, Adam Savage's work in various fields has led to his involvement in a number of projects, including The Matrix Reloaded and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. As part of his Tested show, Savage has built a replica R2D2 and a pair of spacesuits.

In 2017, he toured with fellow BattleBots guest judge Michael Stevens, more commonly known as Vsauce, on the Brain Candy LIVE! tour. He also published his first book, Every Tool's a Hammer: Life Is What You Make It in 2019.
