A.W.O.L was a lightweight robot built by Aaron Horrocks that competed in the final three seasons of the Comedy Central BattleBots run. It was armored in Lexan and was armed with a sawblade powered by a weed-whacker. Despite being rebuilt for Season 4.0, it didn't win a single match it entered.
The team who built A.W.O.L. also participated in the superheavyweight division with Proto-Type 4, heavyweight division with Black Ops and the middlweight division with M.I.A. (Proto-Type 4 and M.I.A. only competed in a single season each and Black Ops competed in two seasons).
Robot History[]
Season 3.0[]
After receiving a bye in the first preliminary round, A.W.O.L. went up against I-Will-Smack-U in its only match in Season 3.0. I-Will-Smack-U won by hit points and A.W.O.L. was eliminated from the tournament.
Season 4.0[]
After receiving a bye in the second preliminary round, A.W.O.L. went up against LocoMotion in its only match in Season 4.0. A.W.O.L.'s saw was not spinning and its steering wasn't looking very good. LocoMotion pushed A.W.O.L. around, rammed it, and got underneath a few times. A.W.O.L. made one aggressive move against LocoMotion all match long, and that was just a push. In the end, LocoMotion won on a 26-19 judges' decision and A.W.O.L. was eliminated from the tournament again.
Season 5.0[]
A.W.O.L. was scheduled to fight Claymore in the first preliminary round, but A.W.O.L. had technical issues and was forced to forfeit. Claymore won by default and A.W.O.L. was eliminated from the tournament once again.
